The study highlights how EU-funded measures and the actions of EMN Member and Observer Countries address trafficking in human beings involving third-country nationals across countries of origin, transit and destination. In line with the EU Strategy on Combatting Trafficking in Human Beings 2021–2025, it examines prevention, victim protection and international cooperation through an approach that recognizes the central role of people with lived experience.

By presenting challenges, good practices and concrete outcomes, the study stresses the need for transnational and intersectional responses that move beyond protection alone and actively foster agency. In this perspective, migrant women are not only recipients of support but key actors in processes of prevention, awareness-raising and community transformation. Strengthening their capacity, leadership and participation contributes to more effective, inclusive and sustainable strategies to combat trafficking in human beings and gender-based violence, reinforcing collective responsibility at both local and international levels.
